About Us

We are a product research firm that finds the most interesting new materials & technologies. We then work with our consumer product clients to apply these.

We look all around the world, attend trade shows, and track new developments coming out of research labs to find the most interesting new materials, electronic components, manufacturing processing. We find technologies which make something possible which wasn’t possible before. We evaluate samples of these technologies to understand their capabilities and we educate our clients about them. We also develop prototypes to help evaluate feasibility and demonstrate the possibility of a new product concept.

Materials

Transparent Conductive Film

This film is a clear sheet with a transparent but electrically-conductive coating acting as invisible wiring. You could run invisible wires on the surface of a wall.

Super-Absorbent Polymer Spheres

When placed in warm water for 2 hours, they swell up to several times their size and turn into clear little spheres. You could mix with potting soil to create plants that need to be watered far less often.

Temperature-Sensitive Glass

Special dyes mixed with glass change color when the glass changes temperature. You could create an "occupied" sign on a shower door of a locker room which only appears with the heat from the warm water.

Color-Force Sensor

This bolt has a simple indicator inside the head that changes color when it is tightened. It is used in industrial equipment so you can see if a bolt is coming loose.

Magnet-Attracting Paint

This paint can be applied to walls behind wallpaper so magnets can stick anywhere. You could paint this inside a cereal box so kids can play a boardgame on the back of the box while it stands vertically on the table.

Soft Gel Magnets

This magnet is soft and squeezable, but it still has a north and south pole. You could create a stuffed animal with reconfigurable limbs that attach with these soft magnets.

Heating Glass

This glass has a special coating that heats up when electricity is applied. You could create a transparent toaster to make it easy to see when your toast is ready.

Conductive Hook and Loop

This is hook and loop (commonly called Velcro®) that conducts electricity. It is used to shield electronics from stray radio frequencies. You could use this as a soft, flexible switch.
